BOULDERHAVEN
Surprisingly Spacious!

Rosel Jensen and Flora Johnson built this home in the late 1930s. Their oldest son, Zen was Huntington's youngest Mayor at age 25. He, with his five sisters, Shirley Elizabeth, Bertha Mae, Joan Flora, Beverly, and Bessie Gay were raised in this home. Large rooms and beautiful arched doorways enhance the feeling here.

February 2021 Update, we just finished tiling the kitchen floor. Enjoy!

HOUSE RULES

For a majority of our guests, the "behave well, respect others property and clean up after yourselves" would cover almost everything, but please read through all the house rules and make sure those in your group know and adhere to the house rules too.

NO SMOKING on the premises at any time. Smoke in your car, on the sidewalk, the park across the street or other places away from the house. Please don't smoke on the porch in the front or the patio in the back. Smoke has a way of entering doors and windows. Cleaning smoke from drapes and upholstery is expensive and will affect security deposit. Clean up all butts outside. Thank you :)

NO ILLEGAL ACTIVITY
The Huntington regulation states, "Ensure that no guest or occupant engages in illegal or disorderly conduct or creates unreasonable noise or disturbance. (Ord. 6-2019, 7-17-2019)"
Thank you for adhering to this city regulation.

CIRCULATING FANS

COFFEE MAKER & TOASTER
You will find things such as a Coffee Maker & Toaster in the lower kitchen cupboard.

CLIMBING AT JOES We've been fortunate to have people from all over the U.S. come to climb at Joes. We are so impressed by how respectful you are and how fun you are to communicate with. We've also noticed the tight knit group you are among yourselves... to the point of leaving things in great condition for the next friends who come to stay, climb and enjoy!

BATHROOM:
Don’t flush sanitary items. Put them in the garbage can that is next to the toilet. When showering, make sure the bottom of the "inside" shower curtain is inside the tub to keep the water from running onto the bathroom floor.

LAUNDRY:
Washer and Dryer are in a room adjacent to the kitchen.

Washer: select a water level, low, medium, or super. After that...when in doubt do what your Mom taught you, or, I usually select the "Regular" cycle for 10 minutes, and "Cold/Cold" for the water temperature.

Dryer: I usually select Timed Dry for 30 minutes on Medium heat and check to see if the clothes are dry and if needed I set additional time after that. Of course, towels take much longer than sheets.

SAFETY & SECURITY:
A fire extinguisher is located on the wall inside the laundry room to the left.
CO2 and Smoke Detector
There is a smoke/CO2 detector in the hallway just outside the bathroom/bedrooms.

The house has some childproofing but don’t leave children unsupervised as there are plastic garbage bags in bathroom drawers, cleaning supplies under sinks and possibly other hazards.

A PARK ACROSS THE STREET
The Huntington City Park is directly across the street, with the Elementary School (with a playground) directly behind that.
There is, usually, WiFi at the park. You can find more Park Information here.

FEEL THE PEACE:
We think you'll feel at home here. The streets are wide, the air is fresh and the night sky full of stars!

THINGS TO BRING OR PICK UP ON ARRIVAL:
We provide enough to get you settled. For large groups or stays longer than a couple of days you may need to pick up Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, possibly dishwasher or laundry detergent, wood for the fire pit... There are a few kitchen essentials although they may get depleted. We restock when we're in town.

HAVE WHAT YOU NEED

Let us know if we need to get anything to make your time at our place better. We can't/won't guarantee every request, but we did have someone ask if there was a fire pit and we had a cement patio poured and got patio chairs and a fire pit before they arrived!

Thank you and Enjoy your stay.

End DIGITAL OVERLOAD, and Breathe the Fresh Air!
